Notre Dame, Ind. --- A hot shooting second half helped the Bethel Women's Basketball team defeat the Holy Cross Saints 76-70 on Thursday night in McKenna Arena.
The Pilots trailed the Saints at the half, 32-31 but found their touch from the field after the intermission, connecting on 54% of the field goals (13/24) and a sizzling 63% from beyond the arc (7/11) in the 2
nd half to pull out the win with their crosstown foe.
Four Pilots finished scoring in double figures led by Freshman Ellia Foster, who finished with 15 points, while
Taylor Pasquale,
Katie Kinker and
Caroline Morris each added 10 respectively.
Abby WIlliams continued her excellent play with 9 points and 13 rebounds.
Bethel, who was playing without leading scorer
Maiah Shelton, was plagued with turnovers (27) but managed to overcome their miscues by outscoring the Saints 22-6 on second half points and dominating the boards 47-28.
The Pilots improve to 3-1 on the season and the Saints fall to 1-2.
