KISSIMMEE, Fla. --- The Bethel Pilots (7-7-7) needed to win their final pool play match with the Judson Eagles (6-5-10) to advance to the NCCAA National Tournament for the second consecutive year but fell short of advancing after tying the match 1-1.
The first half ended scoreless, with the Pilots being outshot by the Eagles 8-4 and forced more corners 2-0.
Leena Thomas gave the Pilots the lead in the 71st minute unassisted, driving through defenders and fired high, but Judson answered with a pass into the front of the box with a two-touch goal to tie the match 1-1.
The Eagles advance to the final after scoring three goals in pool play versus the Pilots, who have two. Bethel will be back in action in the fall of 2025. See bupilots.com and on social media @BUPilots for updates on the 2025 schedule release.
