SOUTH BEND, Ind.---
Aaron Douglass recorded a new PR as the Pilots made history for the Bethel Cross Country Program on Friday afternoon at St. Patrick's County Park.
Friday's Bethel Invite, with 89 runners, marked the first time in school history that the men's team won the meet. Additionally, it was the first time that both the men and women each had a first place finish (
Aaron Douglass and Anna Enderle).
The Pilots showcased their best team time of the year, again surpassing the NCCAA Qualifying Standard, with a time of 2:18:59.
Both
Aaron Douglass (26:19.6, 1st), and
Devyn Clements (28:07.7, 12th) recorded a new personal record.Â
Andrew Golba took an impressive top ten finish with a time of 27:31.4 (8th).Â
Head Coach Ryan Sommers shared, "Very proud of how well the Pilot harriers shined on their home course in front of the many Bethel supporters. Great to see (alumni) out supporting. We continue to make great progression as we get nearer to championship season"
The Pilots will next compete on Sat, Oct. 25th at 10 AM at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge. The meet will be hosted by Aquinas College at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids, Mich.Â
