In the opening half of the evening,
Maarten Schouten's defense shone as he recorded two saves amidst the scoring drought.
Schouten recorded another save to start off the second, but Marian's Gustavo Nunes found an opening in the 61st minute to put the Knights on the board.
In the remainder of the second, the Pilot offense remained aggressive, taking a collective six shots against Marian.
Head Coach
Thiago Pinto shared, "Marian had a bright night both individually and as a team...they were able to capitalize on a good goal off of transition. We created a few very good chances that could have allow(ed) us to take the lead or tie the game. We had good effort but we can do better with our ability to break down teams."
The No. 3 Pilots will look for their next Crossroads League win against the Huntington Unviersity Foresters (3-7-4, 1-4-1) on Saturday. The Pilots will host the matchup on Morey Field, with kickoff set for approximately 5 PM.
