Box Score MISHAWAKA, Ind. ---The Bethel Pilots (9-2-1, 3-1), defeated the Goshen College Maple Leafs (1-6-4, 0-4) 4-0 on Morey Field on Saturday afternoon.
Thomas' performance marked a personal season high for goals in a single game (two).
In her impressive first half, Thomas scored two consecutive goals within less than a minute time span (first scoring in the 26th minute, assisted by Aubrey Vercynckt). In the 27th minute,
Thalyta Martins picked up the assist to Thomas.
In the second half,
Karly Harkness hit the back of the net, assisted by
Annalise Jung in the 49th minute.
Aubrey Vervynckt closed out Bethel's offensive efforts with a goal in the 82nd minute, assisted by
Chloe Baker. Vercynckt now has five goals on the season.
Sophie Neihart shared, "It was great to see how our team's level of play was consistent all throughout the game. No matter who subbed in, our ambition to strive to be the best was evident in each player! It was a joy to be a part of today's game, and I'm looking forward to the next one!"
Head Coach Jason Freeman shared,"Great team win today for the Pilots! They continued to encourage one another so well today! When a team begins to look to the interests of others, great things are possible. This group is starting to scratch the surface, and it will be fun to watch as they continue to grow each day."
The Bethel Pilots will next compete against the Grace College Lancers (9-2-2, 2-2) on Saturday, Oct. 11th at 1st Source Bank Field. The Pilots will kickoff at approximately 7:00 PM.
