AVE MARIA, Fla. ---The Bethel Women's Basketball Team (8-4) defeated the Webber International University Warriors (4-6) 59-53 on Monday evening in the Tom Golisano Fieldhouse.
The Pilots last faced the Warriors in another tightly contested match on Dec. 17, 2021, but fell 97-92. The last Behtel victory over Webber International took place on Jan. 9, 1993 (57-56).
Isabel Scales continued her streak of double-digit games (three) with 16 points, just shy of her highest scoring game this season (17) against the Goshen Maple Leafs (Nov. 22).
Justyce Williams posted 14 points for the Pilots while shooting 54 percent from the field (6-11).
Mariah Claywell led the team in rebounds (eight) and steals (four), while freshman Izzy Nooe led the way in assists (five).

Joslyn Marshall posted a new season high for steals (four).
The Pilots battled for baskets in the first, scoring 14 points to the Warriors' 15. Bethel pulled away in the second quarter (17), nearly doubling Webber International's point total (nine).

In the third, the Warriors' offense retaliated, shooting 46 percent from the field while the Pilots shot 18 percent. Bethel entered the final quarter trailing by one (39-38).
Izzy Nooe and
Isabel Scales sparked the biggest margin of the quarter (53-49) with a three (2:35) and a pair at the line (1:55).
Justyce Williams downed a layup for the final points of the matchup, assisted by Izzy Nooe (0:04), for a 59-53 Bethel win.

Scott Polsgrove shared, "Very proud of my team for finding a way to win while not shooting the ball very well. Made big baskets and got crucial stops late in the game."
Bethel will next compete tonight against Ave Maria University (4-4) tonight at 5:30 PM.
