ADRIAN, Mich.  — The Bethel Pilots (7-6, 3-4) Women's Lacrosse team achieved a historic upset victory against Siena Heights, winning 8-6 at O'Laughlin Stadium on Tuesday night. The win marks their second all-time win in the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Tournament.

Siena Heights took an early lead with goals from Abbey Scott, Jenna Allie, and Megan Gibbs, ending the first quarter 4-1. Bethel's Chloe Harding scored the Pilots' first goal, assisted by Serenity Kretschmer.

Bethel rallied in the second quarter with goals from Harding and Mackenzie Holland, closing the gap to 4-3. The Pilots continued their momentum in the third quarter, with Kretschmer scoring twice and PJ Pearson adding another, bringing the score to 6-4.

Despite a late goal from Siena Heights' Ava Pieron, Bethel maintained their lead. Holland and Isabell Gerbrand secured the final goals for Bethel in the fourth quarter, sealing the 8-6 victory.

This win follows Bethel's previous WHAC Tournament victory in 2024, where they defeated Concordia (Mich.) 11-10 in overtime before falling to No. 3 Lawrence Tech in the semifinal.

The Pilots 2024 game against the Blue Devils in the WHAC Tournament was a 15-8 loss and is the furthest the Pilots have made it to in the conference tournament. This is the second consecutive season Bethel has made the WHAC Semifinal and the fourth total appearance in the program's 10-year history. Bethel has a record of 2-3 in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament going into Thursday night.

Bethel will face No. 5 Lawrence Tech for a WHAC Semifinal rematch on Thursday, April 17 at 6 p.m. in Southfield, Mich.
