Box Score UPLAND, Ind. ---The No. 7 Bethel Pilots (6-1-2, 0-0-1) tied with the Taylor University Trojans (6-2-1, 0-0-1) 1-1 on Wednesday evening. 

Following the scoring drought of the opening half, Julian Vargas Talamantes posted the first goal for either team in the 52nd minute of the match (1-0). 

The Trojans answered with their own goal in minute 73 to even the board. 

Bethel proceeded to take an additional six shots before the conclusion of the game, but to no avail. 

Head Coach Thiago Pinto shared, "Overall, it was a good performance from the team tonight...thought we had a lot of good moments and opportunities to put the game out of reach within both halves. Credit to Taylor's hard work and discipline to fight for a result and find the equalizer. Crossroads League games are very competitive and we need to execute the chances that we create well." 

The Pilots will have their next Crossroads League matchup on Saturday, Aug. 27th at 5:00 PM on Morey Field. Bethel will host the Mount Vernon Nazarene University Cougars, who are currently 5-1-3 overall, and tied 1-1 on Wednesday with the Goshen College Maple Leafs in their conference opener.
