Douglass, Enderle, and Golba Compete Against Division One Talent at FSU Invite

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. --- Aaron Douglass, Anna Enderle, and Andrew Golba competed in the Florida State University Invite, which included upwards of 30 programs, on Friday, Sept. 26th. The event, hosted by the NCAA Division One Seminoles, was also attended by Crossroads League Affiliate Taylor University (Ind.), and LSU amidst several other talented teams.

The FSU course that the Pilots ran is the same one that will host the NAIA national meet in November.

Head Coach Ryan Sommers wrote, "Temps were in the 80s with humidity in the 90-95% range. Great course, but humidity took its toll on the runners. (We) only raced three athletes, giving them the chance to preview the national championship course and get a good feel for that level of a meet."

Anna Enderle recorded a 23:17 6k time, her second personal best, placing her 5th on the all-time performance list. She now holds the 4th, 5th, and 6th of the top 50 performances at Bethel University. Enderle finished 93rd out of 351 runners, which was within the top 26 percent of the field.

In the 8k, Aaron Douglass ran 26:46; his 4th best time. Douglass placed 94th out of 317 runners, which was in the top 30 percent of the field.

Andrew Golba finished 164th, running a time of 27:52, his ninth personal best.

Ryan Sommers shared, "All three athletes took advantage of the opportunity to run in a race of this magnitude and learned valuable lessons.  They battled the field and humidity well.  The experience will benefit them and their team the rest of the season."

The Bethel Pilots will next compete at the Mount Mercy Seminole Valley Stampede, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. on Oct. 4th.
