LIVONIA, Mich. ---The Bethel Competitive Cheer Team placed fourth on Saturday at the Madonna Madness Invite at the Alliance Catholic Credit Union Arena.
A total of eight programs competed and Bethel's Reserves Team had their first competition of the 2026 season.
The competition scores were as follows:
Head Coach Lexie Sturgill reflected on both teams performances, sharing, "The Intermediate Team made an unforgettable debut, earning an impressive 64.45 before a deduction from an injury earlier in the season...Even with this added challenge, the team demonstrated remarkable resilience---hitting every skill with confidence, strength, and unity while boldly representing Jesus on the mat."
She continued, "The Advanced Team delivered a strong performance this week, earning a more than three-point increase...Despite a challenging prior week with injuries, the team showed resilience by reworking parts of the routine, adding two additional baskets, achieving no deductions in tumbling, and celebrating Kasey's first tuck basket."
The Varsity and Reserves Teams will next compete at Spring Arbor on Feb. 21.
