HOBART, Ind. ---The Bethel Pilots opened up day one of the KCAC Conference Championship on Wednesday evening with a fourth place finish in the 800 Free Relay.
Jorge Souto Vilas (1:41.45) broke the Bethel University Record for his 200 Free Split as the first swimmer in the relay. Vilas now holds four Bethel University Records following his earlier season performances in the 200 Free Relay (alongside
Andrew Williams,
Nico Stuber, and
Omar Khatter), 100 Back (51.20), and the 200 IM (1:54.10).
Teammates
Andrew Williams (1:43.58), Zachary Anguish (1:46.65), and
Nico Stuber (1:45.61) claimed the fourth place finish (30) alongside Vilas to end the day above Aquinas College (28).
Head Coach
Chadd Maurer shared, "Solid performance from the Pilots to start out our conference championship. The men competed extremely well...All four men swam personal best times in their splits! Great way to start out the meet! The Pilots are looking to continue to build on their achievements as the week continues."
The Bethel Pilots continue their conference championship run today at the Hobart High School Aquatic Center.
