HOBART, Ind. ---The Bethel Pilots opened up day one of the KCAC Conference Championship on Wednesday evening with a historic performance in the 800 Free Relay.
Aixa Recchioni (1:54.99, personal best),
Ella Wardle (1:56.81), Lizzie Williams (1:57.45), and
Jaylyn Harrison (1:52.36) (pictured above) posted a time of 7:41.61 to set a new KCAC conference meet record in the event, and take first in a field of nine teams who scored.
With the win, the Pilots concluded day one in first place with 40 points. The Olivet Nazarene University Tigers rank second with 34 while the University of Saint Mary finished in third place (32).

Chadd Maurer shared, "Solid performance from the Pilots to start out our conference championship. The Lady Pilots took a commanding win in the 800 free relay, with season/personal best splits from all four ladies! Great way to start out the meet! The Pilots are looking to continue to build on their achievements as the week continues."
The Bethel Pilots continue their conference championship run today at the Hobart High School Aquatic Center.
