MISHAWAKA, Ind. ---The Bethel Esports Team went 4-2 in their six January matchups. The Pilots competed in Rocket League, Overwatch, Valorant, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in the WHAC and GLEC conferences.
Rocket League vs. Cleary University (1/23) W 4-2
Gustavo Alvarez (Goose) served as the leading scorer with seven goals across the six games, and 13 saves.
Cameron Napier (napier) led the team in assists with four.
Nicholas Graber (ba.ng) recorded seven saves.
Overwatch vs. Cleary University (1/27) W 3-0
Bethel dominated in the first showing with a 2-0 sweep at Lijang Tower.
Games two and three were a battle, but Bethel secured the 3-2 and 4-3 wins at King's Row and Circuit Royal.
Valorant vs. Siena Heights University (1/28) L 2-0
Bethel fell in two games to the WHAC Reigning Valorant Champions, the Siena University Saints.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate vs. Saint Xavier University (1/28) W 2-1
Zak Shaffer (Daisy) and Nathan Kropiewnicki (Toad) led the total number of eliminations for the Pilots. Kropiewnicki totaled 78 while Shaffer recorded 65.
Shaffer also led the team in assists with 45.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate & Overwatch vs. Valparaiso University (1/30) W 2-0, L 1-3
Bethel swept the NCAA Division One Vaparaiso Beacons in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate before falling in four in Overwatch.
