HOBART, Ind. ---The Bethel Pilots finished first out of nine teams on day two of the KCAC Conference Championship on Thursday.
In the 200 Free Relay,
Eliza Nuet (24.77),
Ella Wardle (24.76),
Aixa Recchioni (23.32), and
Jaylyn Harrison (22.87) set a new KCAC Conference record for the event, taking first with a time of 1:35.72.
Olivet Nazarene previously held the record with a 1:36.26 time.
Harrison also added a new meet record for the 50 Free (23.61), which was previously held by Julietta Vega. In the preliminary showing, Harrison posted a 23.55 time.
Elizabeth Wiliams secured a first place finish in the 500 Free with a time of 5:12.95, defeating Olivet Nazarene by a significant 3.5 second margin (5:16.64).
Ella Wardle also took home the gold in the 200 IM (2:07.42) in a field of eight competitors.
Bethel also dominated in the 400 Medley Relay, with
Aixa Recchioni,
Makalynn VanEerden,
Eliza Nuet, and
Jaylyn Harrison winning the event with a 3:52.75 time.
Finally,
Sarah Graves took first in the 1M Dive out of six total contestants with a score of 176.90.
Violet Shively took fifth (143.40) and was the only freshman in the conference lineup.
With these wins, the Pilots concluded day two in first place with 293 points, ahead of Aquinas College by 70 points (223).
The Bethel Pilots continue their conference championship run today at the Hobart High School Aquatic Center, with the event concluding on Saturday, Feb. 7.
