Box Score GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Bethel Pilots (3-1, 2-0) earned a 9-7 road win over the Aquinas College Saints (2-5, 0-2) on March 18, powered by a balanced offensive performance and a strong second-quarter.
After a 2-1 lead at the end of the first quarter, Bethel took control in the second, outscoring Aquinas 4-3 to build a 6-4 halftime advantage. The Pilots added two more in the fourth to hold off a late push from the Saints.
Brooklynn Sallee and
Megan Williams led the way with four goals each, combining eight of Bethel's nine scores.
Katie Korzenieski added one goal, while Williams and
Ella Vick each recorded an assist.
Bethel outshot Aquinas 27-17 and held the edge in ground balls (30-22) and draw controls (13-6), helping control possession throughout the game.
Maddie Reel played all 60 minutes in goal, recording six saves to secure the win.
The Bethel Pilots will next compete on Saturday, March 21 as they face the No. 8 Indiana Tech Warriors (3-1, 2-0) on Morey Field. Gametime is set for 10 AM as both teams look to hold onto their undefeated WHAC record.
