NOTRE DAME, Ind. --- The Bethel Pilots finished 19 strokes under the Taylor Trojans in a runner-up finish at the Saints Classic, hosted by the Holy Cross Saints at the Warren Golf Course with
Aynslee Myer ending one stroke shy of the Medalist Honor in a battle with Margarita Garrido of Taylor University.
Myer tied with Taylor's Eleanor Schuitema with a 152 (+10) and started the tournament with a 77 in Monday's round and improved into Tuesday's round with a 75.
Selah Unwin took sixth after shooting an 80 on Monday's round before improving two strokes with a 78 and 16 over par.
Teammate
Izzy Aigner finished two strokes behind Unwin with a 77 in the first round, tied with Grace May of Grace College and teammate Myer. Aigner shot an 83 in Tuesday's round and finished in seventh place.
Karisa Dyer finished 14th with an 86-85, and
Megan Bishop shot an 89-91 in a four-way tie for 23rd.
The Pilots won three tournaments and finished runner-up in three as they prepare for the NCCAA National Championship on Oct. 21-23 at the Hammock Beach Resort Conservatory Course in Palm Coast, Fla., and look to win their fourth straight NCCAA National Championship.
