ALLENDALE, Mich. --- The Bethel Pilots Men's Track and Field team added 10 NCCAA Qualifiers and 15 total NCCAA Standards at the GVSU Bill Clinger Classic on Saturday in the Kelly Family Sports Center.
Lamarr Williams hit two NCCAA Standards in the 60-meter after placing sixth in the prelims with a 6.93 and fifth in the finals at 6.90. Marcus Smith hit the NCCAA Standard in the 60-meter with a 15th-place 7.10, in the 200-meter, placing 26th at 23.19, and 15th in the Long Jump with a 6.31-meter mark. Brennen Bargesser rounded out the 60-meter in 14th place, running a 7.09 for an NCCAA Standard.
Lucas Linder was another Pilot who qualified for the NCCAA National Championship in multiple events, including the 200-meter, where he placed 25th with a 23.17, and in the 400-meter with a 23rd-place 52.56.
Trevor Smith placed 22nd in the 200-meter with a 22.97, hitting the NCCAA Standard, and Caleb McNeal qualified after placing 23rd at 23.11.
Derek Vondrak placed 12th in the 60-hurdles with an 8.96 for the NCCAA Standard and rounded out the running events for the Pilots.
Joey Rutten hit the NCCAA Standard in the Pole Vault with a 10th-place, 4.36-meter mark, and Josh Handschu finished sixth in the Shot Put with a 12.98-meter mark.
Tyler Simpson qualified in both the Shot Put with a seventh-place 12.87-meter mark and an eighth-place 13.21-meter mark in the Weight Throw.
The Pilots move on to the NCCAA National Championship, hosted by Cedarville University, from Friday, Feb. 7Â to Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Doden Field House.
