GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. --- The Bethel Pilots could not complete the second-half comeback after going into half-time 8-6.

Aquinas led the first quarter after putting up six goals. Alyssa Lundy scored the first Pilot goal unassisted at 11:35 to answer the Saint's first two goals in the opening minutes. Isabell Gerbrand kept the Pilots within one point with a plan at 5:42.

Gerbrand scored her second goal at 4:33 in the second quarter, which started a 3-0 run leading to the Pilots trailing 8-6 at the half.

Kaley Butler scored the second half's first goal a couple of minutes in at 12:27 to make it an 8-7 game.

Alyssa Lundy tied the game at 3:56 in the third quarter, 9-9, but the Saints scored five goals before Lundy put up a plan at 12:29 in the fourth quarter but put up six more before the end of regulation, 20-10.

Bethel is now 6-7 on the season and 3-4 in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference, which ties them to Siena Heights for fifth.

• The Saints outshot Bethel 53-21, and Alyssa Lundy led the Pilots with five goals on eight shots.
• Samantha Swope had 16 saves despite the loss and caused four turnovers.

The Bethel Pilots play their Senior Night game versus the Marian University Knights on Wednesday, Apr. 12, at 5 p.m.
