PALM COAST, Fla. ---
Aynslee Myer and
Selah Unwin made All-American performances at the NCCAA National Championship at the Hammock Beach Resort Ocean Course and fell short by six strokes to the NCCAA Champion Grace Lancers.
The Pilots led the Lancers by 11 strokes after the first round by shooting a 309 with
Selah Unwin leading the standings with a 74 (+2). Myer was in the fight with a 76, Karissa Dyer a 79, and
Izzy Aigner with an 80 all in the top 10 battle on a rainy and gusty Monday.
Myer took the lead on moving day after shooting another 76, but the Pilots led by only five strokes over the Lancers. Many in the field improved their scores with better weather on the course.
Championship Wednesday was a tough day for the Pilots. The team shot 326 and all above 80 strokes but remained within six strokes of Grace. Myer tied for second in the individual standings with Maria Warner of Malone (235) and finished only three strokes behind the medalist Brette Hanavan of Grace (232).
Dyer had a great tournament on par threes this week being the only player to shoot an average under par at 2.83.
