Eric came to Bethel from Bloomington South High School in 1996. The late 90's was a hard time to break into Pilot Basketball and be a force right away and Eric did what all other freshmen did, he worked on his game and took advantage of competing with the upper classman to advance his own game. Bethel went on to win the NAIA National Championship in that ‘96-‘97 season.

Eric's continuing hard work led to great things in the next three years of his career. His sophomore season the Pilots won the NAIA National Championship giving the Pilots 3 Championships in three years.

As an upperclassman Eric helped the Pilots back to their 3rd straight NAIA National Championship appearance but this time the result was one win short of the goal. BU lost to the Golden Eagles of Cornerstone University in overtime but not before Eric set a NAIA finals record for points in a game with 38.

To round out his career in a Pilots uniform Eric led a group of young Pilots in 1999-2000 to an NCCAA National Championship while leading the team in every statistical category, a feat that had never been accomplished and has yet to be duplicated.  Upon graduation Bethel Basketball retired Eric's #55 jersey.
