Heather (Seyfred) McKee, a 2011 Bethel graduate, competed in women's basketball for three years after transferring to Bethel from Indiana State midway through her freshman season. Seyfred was an NAIA All-American, earning Honorable Mention status in 2011 and was twice an NCCAA All-American (2010 and 2011). Seyfred earned a spot on the All-Conference team all three years she played at Bethel and also excelled in the classroom, becoming a two-time NAIA and two-time NCCAA Scholar Athlete.

A sharp-shooting scoring threat from long range, Seyfred made her mark from the onset, leading the Lady Pilots to an MCC regular season crown in 2009 and a spot in the 2nd round of the NAIA National Tournament. As a freshman, Seyfred averaged 14.5 ppg and connected on 96 three-pointers on the season, which was the 2nd most in the country. She followed up her first year as a Lady Pilot by averaging 16.5 ppg as a junior and 17.2 as a senior, while leading the nation as a senior with 122 made three-pointers.
An integral part of the women's basketball team's success, Seyfred helped the Lady Pilots to an overall record of 67-35 in her three seasons and back-to-back NCCAA National Championships in 2010 and 2011. She twice earned a spot on the NCCAA National All-Tournament team and as a junior was named the tournament MVP.
At the time of her graduation and in just three seasons, Heather decorated the Lady Pilot record book, including finishing 7th on the all-time scoring list with 1,643 points. She was also first in career free throw percentage at 87.8%, 2nd in 3-pointers made (320) and 3rd in career 3-point % (.383). Her 602 points in her senior season were the 4th most in school history, while her 122 trifectas were the most ever in school history.
